I first made my handy quilted sewing tool bag to keep my pattern making and sewing tools in, back when I attended fashion college in the early 80’s. Travelling with sharp scissors, bradawl and tracing wheel etc in an ordinary bag was not possible because of the obvious.

Over the years I made many sewing tool bag variations, fast forward to February 2012, I made this floral one below. To date – June 2015′ my quilted tool bag pdf pattern has been downloaded almost 1,700 times… lots of happy sewers I guess 🙂

Materials Required
• 150cm width – Printed main cotton fabric 60cms
• 150cm width – Contrast chintz fabric 1.00 metre
• 140cm width – Polyester wadding (6oz) or curtain interlining 70cms
• Matching sewing thread
• Pattern maker or long see through ruler
• Sewing pins
• Hand sewing needle
• Fabric shears
• Paper scissors
• Tailors chalk or pencil
• Tape measure
• Alternative: rotary cutter, ruler and cutting mat
